Preparing for Goodbye
A practical guide for navigating the care, details, and decisions that come with a parent’s transition.
Because knowing what to expect can make an overwhelming time feel a little more sacred.
Why I Wrote This Guide
Dear Reader,
This is by no means an inclusive resource.
It is simply what I learned from my own experience during my mom’s transition and the wisdom passed on to me while I was in the thick of it from family and friends who had been through the same.
There are no words to describe the level of gratitude I felt for their words and support.
It made the day-to-day less overwhelming and allowed me to be fully present with my mom in the short period of time she had between diagnosis and transition.
I was blessed to have a very thoughtful and organized mom.
Her foresight set me up to successfully take care of the details during and after her transition with more clarity, ease, and grace.
For that, I am eternally grateful.
I hope you find this information empowering and that it helps you create more clarity and understanding of all that’s involved in successfully preparing for the short and long-term care and/or transition of a parent.
All my best,
Janine
